CANTON — The Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. recently hosted ‘Cork and Canvas’ presented by Wilson Bickford, raising $1,175 which will be used to provide transportation in St. Lawrence County
The paint and sip class was held at the Heuvelton Fire Hall to benefit the St. Lawrence County programs of the Volunteer Transportation Center (VTC) on Nov. 8. These programs provide transportation to those without access to necessary medical appointments and food sources.
The class was led by Wilson Bickford and featured his “Winter Wonderland” painting. The $1,175 raised equates to approximately 2,500 miles of transportation for those in need.
The Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. (VTC), established in 1991, drives thousands of miles each year assisting community members in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties.
Over the last 20 years this essential non-profit organization has provided rides to health care appointments, grocery shopping, and other destinations for residents.
The main office of the VTC is located at 203 North Hamilton St., Watertown. In late 2013 the organization added an office to serve St. Lawrence County in Canton. To learn more, visit www.VolunteerTransportationCenter.org.
