The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team lost its third consecutive match of the weekend, 5-3, to RIT on Sunday morning in the 2011 Flower City Tournament seventh place match.

The loss sends the Saints to 0-3 on the young season, while the Tigers move to 1-2. The Saints will look to battle back next weekend as they host the SLU Fall Classic on their home courts.

First-year student Sam Mullin highlighted the play on Sunday, as he swept his matches in both singles and doubles. The Hingham, MA native and his partner sophomore Jesse Gaboury knocked off RIT's Max Bogue and Jake Stocker in a close 9-7 victory in No. 3 doubles before he battled back to defeat Adam Wolf 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 in No. 4 singles.

Junior Tom Timpone also posted a victory for the Saints as he too battled back from a set behind to defeat Clayton Tontarski 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in No. 3 singles. First-year student Tom Luchars evened up the score of his match in the second set, but would eventually fall to Neville Billimoria 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in No. 2 singles.

Yesterday, the Saints lost a 5-2 decision to Oneonta in the first round matches before falling to Nazareth 5-1 in the consolation.

Gaboury and first-year student Tim Knowles tallied the lone Saint point against the Golden Flyers as they teamed up to earn an 8-2 victory.
