Lisbon angler Connor Bell came away with two trophies after participating in both the NY State Junior and High School Bass Federation / FLW Championships Sept. 15 and 16 on Great Sacandaga Lake, about 50 miles west of Albany.
In a Sunday team tournament featuring high school division anglers from across the state, Connor and his teammate, Ethan Davis from Syracuse, came out on top. That first-place finish qualifies the team to travel to Lake Pickwick in Florence, Alabama next June to compete for the High School National Championship title.
The day before, Connor and junior teammate, Eric Newman, logged a third-place finish.
Connor is a 7th grader at Lisbon Central School and regularly fishes with the Good Ole Boys Jr. Bass Club based in Central Square.
