Four wins in singles play helped Wheaton College hand the St. Lawrence women's tennis team its first dual match loss of the season. Wheaton entered the match ranked No. 13 in the central region by the ITA.
The match came down the wire, as the first doubles match went to a tiebreak with the Wheaton duo prevailing 9-8 (3). The Saints' pairings of Anna Young and Georgia Comber and Samantha Miller and Hallie Young earned 8-2 and 8-3 wins in doubles, respectively.
McNeal and Hallie Young were the winners in singles for St. Lawrence, both in straight sets. McNeal played in the third spot posting a 6-4, 6-2 win, while Young finished up at six downing Wheaton's Kaiser 7-5, 6-2.
The Saints will return to Canton to face Oneonta at 11:30 a.m. in the Newell Field House on Saturday, March 15.
