Geneva, NY – Jesse Walley and Madeline Hewitt led the men's and women's cross country teams on Saturday in the Cross Country Only Championships at Seneca Lake State Park.
The men finished in fourth place out of the 10-team field with 121 points. Jesse Walley led the Roos for the second consecutive race finishing in seventh place out of the 98-runner field. He covered the 8-kilometer course in a season-best time of 28:22. Ben York also recorded a season-best time of 29:16 (16th), while Jeremy Gundrum was just three seconds off his 2018-best in 29:40 (19th). Kyle Lorey (48th – 32:19) and Isaac Defelice (60th – 34:11) rounded out the top five for the Roos.
SUNY Canton (121) narrowly trailed third place D'Youville (119), while Clarkson (33) edged out host Hobart for the team title.

Hewitt paced the Lady Roos for the fourth consecutive race crossing the line in 24th place covering the 6-kilometer course in 27:07. Allison Ford posted a time of 32:15 (67th) and Kaitlyn Trusty finished in a season-best time of 32:57 (71st). Jill Rombalski (33:09 – 73rd) and Katherine Quane (37:14 – 83rd) rounded out the top five with Rombalski clocking a season-best at the 6K distance.
SUNY Canton finished eight out of nine teams with 209 points. Clarkson (21) edged out William Smith (45) for the team title.
