For a while, the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team was playing right with SUNYAC-leading Brockport on their home floor.

After a 12-2 Brockport run opened the game, the Bears responded with an 11-2 run to get the margin within a point. After trading baskets for the next several minutes, junior Tom Graf (Elbridge, N.Y. / Jordan-Elbridge) knocked down a jumper to get it to 21-20 with 8:42 left in the first half.

From there, turnovers caught up with the Bears and the Golden Eagles were able to take advantage of a 23-5 run that was highlighted by a pair of dunks by Brockport big man Olusola Adeniran. That pushed the lead up to 19 and that's where the Bears deficit would remain at halftime when it trailed 46-27.

Potsdam would only get as close at being down 15 the remainder of the way as the Bears fell 88-60 to Brockport at Vlogianitis Gym before approximately 1,500 fans on Saturday afternoon.

John Ivy scored 20 points, Adeniran added 13 points and 12 rebounds while Bobby Bell chipped in with 12 to lead Brockport (17-2 overall, 11-1 SUNYAC).

Sophomore guard Joe Estramonte (Greenwich, N.Y. / Greenwich Central) put together his best shooting performance of the season with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

Estramonte came within a point of his career high of 17 points set back on January 31 against New Paltz. He has reached double digit scoring now in three of his previous four games. He also had a steal and a block. Estramonte has at least one steal in 16 of 20 games played this season.

Rob Duquette (Peru, N.Y. / Peru) put up 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to score in double figures for the 15th time in 17 games this season. Duquette has six double-doubles thus far this season and has just missed on three other chances for a double-double by a single rebound.

Senior forward Colin Peterson (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton) came off the bench and scored nine points on 4-of-6 from the floor. He also had five rebounds, a block and two steals in 20 minutes of action.

Assist to turnover ratio continued to be a problem for the Bears (3-17 overall, 1-12 SUNYAC) as the team accounted for just six assists while committing 23 turnovers.

Potsdam will return home to take on Oswego on Friday.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
