Marisa Turner won the high jump and Kristen Linder was the champion in the shot put as St. Lawrence University's women's indoor track and field team opened the 2014 portion of the schedule with a number of top ten finishes in the Ottawa Lions Track Club's Dome Super Saturday meet in Ottawa on Saturday.

The Saints, who will host a multi-event competition starting at 4 p.m. Friday and the SLU Invitational Saturday morning at the Newell Field House, had a number of solid performances in the Ottawa meet, which included some unique distances not normally contested on the collegiate level.

Turner cleared 1.57 meters to edge teammate Kylie Morris for the high jump title with Morris second at 1.56 meters. Turner also added an eighth place finish in the 300 meters in the meet. Linder threw 11.05 meters to win the shot put and was second with a 13.39 meter throw in the collegiate weight throw.

Divya Biswal was second at 4.99 meters and Tori Bean, who returned to action after missing all of last year with an injury, was fourth with Alison Scarf sixth and Carly Stine seventh in the long jump while Caitlin Boreyko was third and Taylor Washington finished fourth in the pole vault.

On the track, Lisa Grohn had the top Saint finish with a second in the 3000 meters in 10:16.76.

Hannah Kinsey set a pair of SLU records, finishing third in the 150 in 19.33 to improve her own mark with Ketura Mason sixth and Chinelo Asanya 10th and Kinsey added a fourth in 42.73 in the 300. Her time was .22 seconds faster than the 12 year-old record set by Angie Nortz.

Biswal was fifth in 10.07 in the 60 hurdles with Allison Scarf sixth and Jacqueline Ebeling seventh while Stine was ninth in the 600 and Ariel Beccia finished seventh in the 1500 for other top ten finishes.

The Saint 4x400 relay was seventh in 4:325.11 and the 4x200 relay team finished second in 1:54.37.
