First year Brigitte Tousignant improved to 5-6 on the season in the number one slot with a win against Hamilton College at the Robie Squash Center on Thursday, but she was the lone Saint victory as the 16th-ranked Continentals sailed to an 8-1 win over the Saints.
SLU, now 2-9 overall, is ranked 27th nationally and will play at Williams and Middlebury on Feb. 11-12 to conclude the regular season.
Tousignant beat Hamilton's Amanda Thorman in straight games, 11-8, 11-6, 11-6 for the Saint win on Thursday.
Hamilton swept the rest of the matches by 3-0 scores. Hillary Gray beat Jenn Hearn at two, 11-7, 11-5, 11-4, Claire Corroon beat Kendall Harty 11-8, 11-3, 11-2 at three and Alyssa Bawden beat Brittany Coxe 11-2, 11-3, 11-5 at four. Hannah Coffin turned back Molly Caplan 11-4, 11-3, 11-2 at five, Isabelle Weisman beat Charlotte Edson 11-0, 11-7, 11-2 at six, Kelsey Bogle topped Parker Benedict 11-2, 11-0, 11-3 at seven, Elisabeth Morris beat Kate Holby 11-3, 11-6, 11-2 at eight and Laura Russell beat Carolyn Fisher 11-2, 11-5, 11-0 at nine.
Katie Rogers of Hamilton won the exhibition match at 10, 11-2, 11-0, 11-5 over Caroline Williams.
