Cazenovia, NY - Junior Christine Wright scored three times in the final 5:22 to help lift the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team to an 11-10 victory over Oswego State Tuesday afternoon in a non-league game held at Cazenovia College.

The Golden Knights improved to 2-1 overall with their second victory in four days while Oswego fell to 2-2 in 2015. Clarkson is scheduled to face Potsdam State on Thursday.

Oswego scored the opening goal and led throughout the first half, edging out to as many as four goals on two occasions midway through the half. The Golden Knights started making a comeback in the final 10 minutes of the first period when sophomore Paige Fayette scored back-to-back goals. The Lakers scored the first goal of the second half on a free-position shot, but the Knights defense found a way to hold Oswego's offense in check for the final 28 minutes of the game. Freshman Taylor Collins scored two straight goals to get the Knights back within one, and Wright found the back of the net at 15:52 to tie the game, doing so with the Knights down a player after a yellow card.

The Lakers scored two goals with less than 10 minutes to go to take a 10-8 lead, but the late spurt wasn't enough to end Clarkson's comeback attempt. Wright scored at 5:22 to pull Clarkson back within one, then tallied a goal on a free-position shot at 3:35 to tie the game, and recorded one more free-position shot goal with 2:18 remaining. The final 2:18 of the game was the only time that the Knights led in the contest.

Wright finished the game with seven points, setting a career-high with six goals and an assist on only nine shots, while adding in three draw controls. Collins scored on all three of her shots and also had three groundballs, three draws, and three caused turnovers. Fayette scored twice and Mollie Simmons earned four draw controls. Clarkson keeper Dani Tani stopped six shots in 60 minutes.

For Oswego, Mackenzie Kjerstad scored four times to lead the way, while Emily Lange and Esther Gabriel each scored twice. Lange also added two groundballs, two caused turnovers and three draws. Angela Ponto made 14 saves in the Oswego crease and added four groundballs.
