SUNY Potsdam's Coffey named to woman's lax second team All-SUNYAC

POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam junior Brittany Coffey has been named to the All-SUNYAC second team for women's lacrosse, the conference announced today.

This season, Coffey played in 15 of the Bears' contests with 14 starts. The defender was third on the team in caused turnovers with 14 and fifth in ground balls with 20. She caused a season-high three turnovers against Morrisville on March 25, and at second ranked Cortland on April 17. In her three seasons, Coffey has started 37 of the 41 games she's played in, providing a consistent defensive presence. She has collected 33 ground balls, nine draw controls and forced 24 turnovers in her career.

Potsdam (5-11) finished the season on April 29, with a dramatic 8-7 come-from-behind overtime victory against Utica.

Cortland's Lindsay Abbott has been selected as the conference's Player of the Year. Fredonia's Katie Kleine is the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year and the Blue Devil's Chris Case is the Coach of the Year.
