POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam women's lacrosse player Jen Chmiel has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference's Goalie of the Week for the week ending March 31.
In two contests last week, Chmiel helped the Bears to a 2-0 record. The victories were the first of the junior's collegiate career. On Tuesday in Florida, the goalie stopped a career-high 17 shots to help Potsdam rally past Southern Maine, 16-15. Chmiel then played the first half in an 18-5 blowout of visiting Morrisville State on Saturday.
The Bears open up SUNYAC play tomorrow afternoon when they host SUNY New Paltz (3-2) at 4 p.m.
