POTSDAM -- The SUNY Potsdam women's basketball coach Tara Ruckh has announced the addition of assistant Cara Manfredi to her staff for the 2015-16 season.
"Her playing experience will add a strong presence on the sideline and help our program continue to improve," said Ruckh.
Manfredi played at SUNY Geneseo for two seasons before transferring to Clarkson University. She reached the 1,000 point-plateau as a senior during the 2014-15 campaign with the Golden Knights. In 50 games with Clarkson, Manfredi totaled 761 points and 124 3-pointers. Despite just two seasons with the Golden Knights, she ranks fourth all-time in 3-pointers and has the third-highest scoring average in program history.
Manfredi was named a Liberty League First-Team All-Star and was chosen as a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 during her senior season, while gaining Liberty League All-Academic honors.
Manfredi, a Glastonbury, Conn. native, earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics from Clarkson in May and intends to pursue a master's in math education at SUNY Potsdam.
