POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam soccer player Joseph Glackin (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) 2012 Men's College Division Scholar All-East Region Team.
Glackin earned honorable mention status based on his All-SUNYAC selection and his GPA, which was greater than the 3.3 minimum.
Glackin, a senior goalkeeper, capped his four-year career at Potsdam with another standout campaign, garnering a spot on the all-conference first team.
The senior started 13 of the 14 games he played, with a 1.56 goals against average, a .784 save percentage and a 3-7-4 record. In his final game, the goalie shutout Clarkson for the Bears' first win over the Golden Knights since 2007. Glackin will leave Potsdam near the top of the program's all-time wins (14), shutouts (11) and saves (345) lists.
During his junior season, the goalie was named to the All-SUNYAC second team and helped the Bears to their second playoff appearance in school history.
Potsdam posted a 4-9-4 (1-4-4 SUNYAC) mark this season, but finished the
year 2-1-2 over their last five, narrowly missing the conference playoffs.
