CANTON -- The SUNY Potsdam men's and women's cross country teams each posted a fifth place finish at the SUNY Canton Invitational to open the season. Clarkson captured both the men's and women's titles.
Sophomore Brandon Bobik led the Bears men with a 5K time of 19:29. Junior Joseph Rafter and freshman Ryan Sullivan were the next two Potsdam harriers to cross the finish line in 19:30 and 20:10, respectively. Junior Adam Lang and Junior Brett Wunsch rounded out the team's top five with finishes of 20:54 and 21:53.
Sophomore Olivia Rehm stood out for the Bears women with a ninth place overall finish in 22:17. Sophomore Hannah Groshner and Freshman Sarah LaPorta were next in 23:01 and 24:11. Sophomore Sarah Howe ran a time of 24:54 and senior Sarah Behuniak finished in 26:49.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 4, when they cohost the North Country Invitational with the Golden Knights at Clarkson at 5 p.m.
