CANTON -- Junior Harrison Davenport (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) paced the SUNY Potsdam golf team with a 75 as the Bears downed the host Kangaroos at the 2012 SUNY Canton Invitational, 471-503.
The tournament was a two-team event between SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam at Partridge Run Golf and Country Club.
Potsdam had the top four finishers on Tuesday, in a tournament where the top six finishers out of seven counted.
Senior Matt Supernault (Massena, N.Y./Massena) was just a stroke behind Davenport with a 76. Freshman Conor Talty (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and sophomore Austin Pivetta (Chateauguay, N.Y./Chateauguay) followed suit with 77 and 78, respectively. Freshman John Hickey (Au Sable Forks, N.Y./Au Sable Valley) finished sixth and sophomore Tyler Carrow (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) tied for ninth with an 84.
Senior Andrew Holmes (Fort Ann, N.Y./Fort Ann) rounded out the group with an 89.
SUNY Canton Senior Jeremiah Hardin (Alpharetta, Ga.) shot a 7-over par 79 leading the SUNY Canton men’s golf team.
Hardin missed his career low score by one stroke after posting a 41 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine to finish in fifth place.
Junior Mike Reilly (Colton, N.Y.) finished in seventh place after going 39-43 for an 82. Junior Anthony Levato (Canton, N.Y.) finished one stroke back of Reilly firing an 83, including a 1-over par 37 on the back nine. Freshman Brandon Pupp (Oneida, N.Y.) tied for ninth place shooting a pair of 42s for an 84. Junior David Parker (Canton, N.Y.) was 11th with an 85 (44-41) and freshman Brandon Dufrane (Brushton, N.Y.) rounded out the Roos scoring finishing 15th with a 90 (47-43).
