POTSDAM – The Potsdam Bears 45th annual international basketball camp runs from July 12-16.
Over the past 44 years, the camp has attracted over 13,450 campers from the small towns of northern New York, 20 different states, the provinces of Ontario and Quebec and around the world. Players will learn the fundamentals of basketball from experienced instructors at one of the most highly rated camps in the country.
Last summer over 250 players from grades 4-12 learned skills through individual and group instruction from a staff of over 50 top college and high school coaches.
This is one of the only camps in the country where students from the U.S. and Canada have an opportunity to learn about their neighbors and play on the same team. Although both boys and girls attend camp in the same sessions, the skill groups and teams are not co-ed. Campers will be grouped by age and ability to promote maximum development.
An Olympic-size pool, a state-of-the-art weight and exercise room, indoor and outdoor tracks and a modern athletic training room are available for all campers.
The camp will be held on the SUNY Potsdam campus from July 12-July 16. Cost of the camp is $425 for residential campers and $280 for commuter campers. A non-refundable deposit of $100 (U.S. funds) is required to reserve a spot. The balance is due on July 3. A $25 discount is available when registering in groups of five or more. Each camper will receive an packet in the mail upon registration, which also contains required health history forms.
