New Hartford, NY – Devin Page posted a career-low 4-over par, 75, on Saturday in the opening round of the Utica College Invitational at Yahnundasis Golf Club.
He bested his previous low mark of 82 by seven strokes and sits alone in third place following the opening 18 holes of the 36-hole tournament. Matthew Russell posted a round of 8-over par, 79 (T-15) and Josh Marshall was just one stroke back with an 80 (T-19). Nick Messerschmidt rounded out the top four with an 87 (T-40), while Azzat Almasri also competed with a 95 (T-48).
SUNY Canton sits in fourth place out of the eight-team field with a 321. SUNY Delhi's 'B' team (314) leads a packed field just ahead of second place Utica College (315) and SUNY Delhi's 'A' team (316).
The men's golf team returns to the links on Sunday when it takes part in the final round of the two-day Utica College Invitational at Yahnundasis Golf Club.
