Canton, NY – SUNY Canton women's volleyball Head Coach Carol LaMarche has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Coach of the Year, as announced at the national banquet last week.

LaMarche guided her team to a 27-7 overall record this season that culminated in a third place finish at the USCAA National Tournament, the Roos highest finish at the tournament in program history. Coach LaMarche had three players earn All-America awards from the USCAA this year and placed three student-athletes on the organization's All-Academic Team.

Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, NY) was named a First Team All-American for the third consecutive season, while Morgan Bills (Walworth, NY) joined her on the First Team. Caitlin Grimshaw (Adams, NY) earned Honorable Mention accolades. Grimshaw, Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY) and Kiana Archer (Plattsburgh, NY) were named to the All-Academic Team.

LaMarche currently boasts a 102-35 (.745) record through four seasons at SUNY Canton and a 122-49 (.713) mark in five years as a head coach. She has been instrumental in the organization of SUNY Canton hosting the North Country Special Olympics and has helped raise over $1,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

She has led the Roos to three straight USCAA National Tournament appearances and earned her 100th career victory on September 13, 2014 against Utica College. Coach LaMarche also earned her 100th career victory in a sweep of Rochester College on Friday during pool play. She also had two players named to the 2014 USCAA All-Tournament Team in Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, ON) and Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON).
