Canton, NY – Jaedyn Ossont scored her first collegiate goal to give the Roos an early lead but visiting Bryant & Stratton College recorded a pair of unanswered tallies to earn a 2-1 win on Tuesday afternoon.

The Roos (4-2) opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Katie Lamica played a cross from right to left to Taylor Saltus in the middle of the box. She headed the ball toward the goalie who made the initial save but the ball trickled in front of the open net near the goal line as Ossont put home the rebound.

The Bobcats (1-2) evened the score at one in the 39th minute when Lisette Rodriguez played a beautiful through ball up the middle to Cindy Jacquet who put home her first goal of the season past a charging Allison Wakefield. The Roos held a 6-2 shots on goal advantage but the teams played to a 1-1 tie at intermission.

Bryant & Stratton took its first lead of the game just 3:12 out of halftime as Lisette Rodriguez played a great through ball up the right-hand side to Krystal Taylor. Taylor crossed the ball as Wakefield came charging trying to cut off the pass but it found Portia Davis who buried it into the open net.

The Bobcats nearly scored with 23 minutes remaining but a player in an offside position touched the ball just before it was going across the goal line.

Wakefield made three saves in net for the Roos, while Ebony King turned aside five shots for the Bobcats.

The Roos seniors and goalkeeper honored their favorite faculty members with Make-A-Difference awards in a pre-game ceremony on Faculty Appreciation Day.
