(Canton, N.Y.) - The SUNY Canton women’s soccer team enters the weekend with a solid 2-2 record and look to build off a strong offensive showing in a 4-1 win against SUNY Maritime in the second round of the Michelle Vargas-Robin Memorial Tournament at SUNY New Paltz.
The Lady Roos have seen offensive production from eight different team members already this season and look to add to that tally with this weekend’s contests on their home turf. Juniors Ricci Celia (Essex Junction, Vt.) and Bailey Allen (DeKalb Junction, N.Y.) join freshmen Kaylee O'Donnell (DeKalb Junction, N.Y.) and Dominique Pallotolo (Clifton Park, N.Y.) atop the scoring charts; each with three points thus far. Junior Jody Pitt (Ozone Park, N.Y.), sophomore Melissa Campoverde (Forest Hills, N.Y.), and freshman Kamrie Dandrow (Russell, N.Y.) have each tallied a goal for two points, while freshman Katy Sofranko (Lafayette, N.Y.) rounds out the scoring with an assist.
Sophomore Holli-Jo Cota (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) leads the goalkeeping tandem for Coach Kate Thomas-Moody with a .636 save percentage and 2.57 goals against average in just under 140 minutes of action so far this season.
The Roos first opponent on the weekend will be New England College at 6 p.m. Friday evening. They face SUNY ESF Saturday at 5 p.m.
