Cazenovia, NY – Theresa DiMartin finished with a hat trick and Lora Ardoin scored twice but the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-9 road decision at Cazenovia College on Wednesday.

The Wildcats (7-8) jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Roos () scored four of the next six goals to get within 5-4 after DiMartin's second straight goal with 16:19 left in the opening half. Cazenovia tallied three of the final four scores to take an 8-5 lead into intermission.

The hosts extended their lead to five with back-to-back goals off the stick of Breana Howe. The Roos trimmed the deficit to three with 8:45 to play after a Cecelia Neally goal made it 12-9 but Caz added a pair of late goals for the 14-9 victory.

Amanda Woods led the Roos with five ground balls and five draw controls, while DiMartin added four ground balls to her two draw controls and three scores. Howe led Cazenovia with 12 points on eight goals and four assists.

Becca Kieffer made 14 saves in net for the Roos, while Abigail Kortz turned aside 12 shots for the Wildcats.

The women's lacrosse team closes out its season next Tuesday when it visits Hartwick College at 4 p.m.
