KINGSTON, R.I. -- Sophomore forward Devyn Hutcheson (Oswego, N.Y.) scored two goals as the SUNY Canton women’s ice hockey team lost to the University of Rhode Island 8-2 Sunday afternoon in an ACHA Division I game in Kingston, R.I.
Hutcheson scored her first collegiate goal unassisted in the second period.
She scored her second goal in the third period with an assist going to freshman defenseman Stephanie Hyde (Massena, N.Y.).
Freshman Tori Taylor (Hokah, Minn.) made her second start of the season and made 30 saves. Freshman Alyssa Altschuler (Cheshire, Conn.) replaced Taylor with eight minutes left in the second period and finished the game with 21 saves.
The Roos make their home debut next weekend when they host Northeastern University for a two-game series on Saturday, Oct. 27 and Sunday, Oct. 28.
