Media, PA – The University of Maine at Fort Kent jumped out to a double-digit halftime lead on its way to a 74-43 victory against the SUNY Canton women's basketball team on Friday.
Jenifer Morgan-Aubin led the Roos (1-10) with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Sade Rogers, Allison Fink, Taylor Saltus and Jessica Quashie scored six points apiece. Fink, Saltus and Randi Conway hauled down eight rebounds each, while Quashie added seven boards.
The Bengals (12-1) used stifling defense holding the Roos to six points apiece in the first and second quarters as they opened a 38-12 halftime advantage. Canton outscored UMFK 17-16 in the third quarter before the Bengals bounced back, 20-14 in the fourth period.
Savana Jankowski led four players in double figures for UMFK with 17 points, Angel Clark (13), Brianna Lampkin (11) and Madison Fenner (10) also scored in double figures.
The women's basketball team returns to action in the New Year when it hosts Vermont Tech at 12 p.m. in the Roos House.
