Cortland, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team scored four unanswered goals in the second and third periods to earn a 4-2 road in at SUNY Cortland on Friday evening.

The Red Dragons scored a pair of first period goals off the sticks of Dan Broderick and Michael Faliero to take a 2-0 lead after one, but the Roos controlled the scoreboard from there.

Josh Sova set up Ben Beasley for his first goal of the season just 41 seconds into the second period. Joey Vocino lit the lap for the sixth time this season at 16:58 off passes from Tyler Bullard and Sova to knot the game at two apiece heading to the third period.

Zach Pease recorded his third goal in the last two games scoring at 1:09 of the third period on the power play, which proved to be the eventual game-winner. Kasey Kulczycki and Jake Mayette earned helpers on the play.

Cortland pulled the goalie with 2:29 remaining and just under a minute later Joe Deveny buried the empty-netter to seal the win. Beasley earned an assist on the score.

Austin Washkurak made 33 saves on the night including turning aside 20 shots in the second and third periods to hold the Red Dragons scoreless. Drew Weigman made 24 saves for Cortland.

The Roos went 1-for-8 on the power play while successfully killing off all six of its penalties.

These two teams will have a rematch on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Cortland.
