DELHI – Romario Fletcher and Walt Jeter both finished with double-doubles as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team earned a 79-71 road victory at SUNY Delhi on Saturday.

The game was back-and-forth early with host Delhi opening a 23-17 advantage eight minutes in. The Roos responded with two separate 8-0 runs over the next several minutes to open a double-digit lead at 38-28. Canton took a 40-33 lead into intermission.

Canton relinquished the lead for a short time after a Justin Mickens layup with 4:28 remaining but quickly responded with a free throw from Richardson and bucket inside from Fletcher to regain a lead they would not surrender the remainder of the way.

"Incredible effort by our guys on the road tonight with such a quick turnaround," Head Coach Ben Thompson said. "Hopefully we can continue that effort going into the spring semester."

David Haye led four players in double figures with 18 points for Delhi, while Damon Denteh, Lateek Anderson and Donnell Louissaint added 11 points apiece. Louissaint also hauled down 11 rebounds for a double-double.

The Roos held the upper hand in points in the paint 52-36, while the Broncos received 42 points from their bench.
