Newport News, VA – Tom Lauzon (Bombay, NY) of the SUNY Canton men's cross country team has been honored as United States College Athletic Association (USCAA) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.

Lauzon paced SUNY Canton to a first place finish at the Johnson State Invitational as he recorded a third place showing individually. He covered the 8-kilometer course in 30:26, his fastest time over that distance as a Roo. This was the first time the Kangaroos won a team title this season and the fifth team title in program history.

The men's cross country team and Lauzon are back in action Saturday when they travel to Utica, NY to take part in the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcat Invitational. The men's race begins at 12:00 p.m.

SUNY Canton offers career-driven degrees in a variety of interesting majors. The College recently expanded its facilities with a new athletic center, nicknamed Roos House, and the Grasse River Suites Residence Hall. The College's faculty members are noted for their professional real-world experience in addition to their academic credentials. SUNY Canton OnLine offers flexible and convenient online courses and programs. The College features 14 athletic teams and competes as a provisional member of NCAA Division III as well as the USCAA.
