ELMIRA -- The SUNY Canton men’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Elmira Fall Invitational at the Elmira Country Club on Tuesday.
The Roos posted a team score of 353 in the 12-team tournament which placed them ahead of SUNY Potsdam (354), Keystone College (355), SUNY Cobleskill (358), Elmira’s “B” team (363), Baptist Bible College (372), Houghton College (406), and Keuka College (420).
SUNY Delhi’s “B” team finished first followed by SUNY Delhi’s “A” team in second and Elmira College in third.
Junior Mike Reilly (Colton, N.Y.) led the Roos carding an 83 (41-42) to tie for eighth place.
Senior Jeremiah Hardin (Alpharetta, Ga.) and freshman Brandon Pupp (Oneida, N.Y.) each turned in an 86 to finish in a tie for 18th place and freshman Brandon Dufrane (Brushton, N.Y.) shot a 98 to tie for 46th place.
The Roos head to Vermont this weekend to play in the Lou Jarvis Invitational on Sept. 29 hosted by Johnson State College at Jay Peak Golf Course.
