CANTON, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam golf team finished eighth in the SUNY Canton Invitational Friday afternoon. St. Lawrence University grabbed the team title with a score of 309. The Bears posted a score of 349. Junior Vinny Guimond (Sorel-Tracy, Quebec/Rice Memorial Prep) led the way for Potsdam finishing 12, scoring an 82.
Junior Devin Caples (Wilton, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) and senior Andrew Scuncio (Essex, Conn./Pittsford-Mendon) both shot an 83, finishing one stroke behind Guimond. Junior Dylan Estal (Dewitt, Iowa/South Jefferson) ended the day with a 97. Freshman Jack Corcoran (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) and junior Jude Fusilli (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) rounded out the Bears shooting a 99 and 101, respectively.
Potsdam returns to action tomorrow at 1 p.m. when they had down to Utica for the two-day Utica College Invitational.
