Senior Kyle MacDonald hit a two-RBI single in the seventh that gave St. Lawrence a 4-2 lead, but SUNY Canton score two in the eighth to force extra innings and would eventually plate a run in the 13th for a 5-4 win over the Saints on Tuesday afternoon.

Starter Evan Reichel pitched three hitless innings with one strikeout before Hedden took over for a frame and Reichel remained in the game as the designated hitter. Will Fellows allowed just one hit in three innings of work and Rogers gave up two runs on three hits but struck out two in the bottom of the ninth with the winning run on base for the Roos to send the game to extras.

Phelan, who worked out of a bases-load jam in the 10th to keep the Saints alive and stranded five Canton runners in three innings, took the loss for St. Lawrence. He allowed the game-winning run in the 13th and gave up six hits to the Roos.

The Saints opened the scoring in Tuesday's marathon game in the third inning, when first-year Taylor Digilio's sac fly to left scored Evan Reichel for a 1-0 lead.

SUNY Canton took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth, but the Saints pulled even with a an RBI double by LeFevre in the top of the fifth to make it 2-2 heading into the later

innings.

In the seventh, Beau Yaremko worked a lead-off walk for the Saints and Digilio followed with a singled through the left side. A sac bunt by Isaac Lewis moved both runners into scoring position and set up Kyle MacDonald's two-RBI single to deep center field that gave St. Lawrence a 4-2 lead.

But in the bottom of the eighth, a fielding error with two outs by the Saints helped keep the inning alive and allowed Canton to tie the game at 4-4.

St. Lawrence had the potential go-ahead run on third base in the top of the ninth with two outs and LeFevre at the plate, but the Canton left fielder made a tremendous diving catch on a line drive by the sophomore outfielder to save a run and force extra innings.

Canton plated the game-winning run in the bottom of the 13th on a hot-shot single to shot by Wilson Matos. With the win, the Roos improve to 15-22 on the year.

St. Lawrence, now 12-22 overall, will travel to Wells College to take on Ithaca in a neutral site game tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in its final nonconference game of the season.
