Glenside, PA – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team jumped out to a two-set lead but fell 3-2 (24-26, 17-25, 25-23, 25-18, 15-11) in five sets to Washington College in their opening match of the Arcadia Tournament on Friday evening.
The Roos (3-8) were paced by nine kills from Jordan Dormady, while Marissa Ixtlahuac and Shea Norton added eight kills apiece. Peyton Robinson dished out 32 assists to go with 11 digs for the double-double, while Norton added 12 digs. Robinson and Norton added three service aces each.
The Shorewomen (11-2) were paced with double digit kills from Alaina Geissberger (13, Cassie Kowalski (11) and Abby Smith (10), while Taylor Horan paced the offense with 31 assists. Abby Hilty (20), Smith (17), Horan (16) and Kowalski (11) were also strong defensively recording double digit digs.
The women's volleyball team is back in action with a pair of matches on Saturday v. Rowan University at 11 a.m. and host Arcadia University at 1 p.m.
