Smolensky, Patterson, Jarombek lead Saints men's track at RIT

Scott Smolensky, Spencer Patterson and Andrew Jarombek had top three finishes as St. Lawrence University's men's indoor track and field team warmed up for the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference indoor championships with participation in the RIT Orange and Brown Invitational on Friday night.

Smolensky ran 4:22.46 to finish third in the mile with Rob Brandell sixth, Patterson ran 1:57.00 for third in the 800 with Harrison Sloan sixth, Evan Garvey seventh and Corey Hahnl 11th and Jarombek ran 9:13.67 to finish second in the 3000 for the highlight Saint finishes in Friday's meet.

Dennis Korir added a fourth in 1:08.32 in the 500 with Daniel Viscardi fifth and Albert Scardera eighth while Will Moynihan was 16th in the high jump and 18th in the 1000 and Connor Pease finished 24th in both the shot and the weight throw. Bryce DeBoer added a 22nd place finish in the weight.

The Saints will host the NYSCTC Championship at the Newell Field House Friday and Saturday with the men's and women's multi-event competitions getting underway Friday morning.
