The Saints doubles team of Stephanie Finn and Hillary Drewry won the 2010 Division III New York State Championship title Sunday at Ithaca College.
The duo defeated RIT's Maitevera Antelo and Amanda Berg 8-3 in the First Doubles final.
"I am extremely proud of Stephanie and Hillary for their win in the First Doubles championship match," Coach Jeremy Freeman said. "This is a significant accomplishment for the girls and the St. Lawrence University tennis program."
Also posting great showings in doubles for the Saints were Liz Geer and Shannon Murphy, who defeated Lindsay Kantor and Jennifer Ruther (Vassar) 8-5 in the quarterfinals before falling to Liz Stachtiaris and Ariel Sultan (NYU) 8-2 in the semifinal.
"This was an exciting weekend for Saints tennis," Coach Freeman added. "This has been one of the best team showings overall at the State tournament."
