Marisa Turner broke a 14-year-old meet record in qualifying and the Saint 4x200 relay finished third at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships at Ithaca in day one competition on Friday.
Turner had the top qualifying time of 57.11 in the 400 meters, breaking Sheri Kelliher's record set in 2002. Turner's time is the third best in Division III nationally thus far this season. She also anchored the 4x200 team which included Molly Lennon, Chineo Asanya and Ketura Mason, finishing third in 1:46.57.
The Saint Distance Medley Relay team of Elina Breton, Jacqui Ebeling, Anna Breton and Megan Kellogg finished fifth in 12:24.76, Teresa Grigg finished seventh in the pentathlon with 2515 points and Leah Conners was eighth in the weight throw at 13.72 meters for the other Saint scoring on Friday.
Asanya joined Turner in advancing to Saturday finals with a 8.13 time in the 60 meters.
