CANTON - Junior Kyle Miller recorded a career-high 29 points as the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team used 62.5% shooting to earn a 100-82 victory over Rensselaer (RPI) in the Burkman Gymnasium on Friday night.

Miller's 11-for-16 shooting performance, including seven 3-pointers, led four Saints in double-figures as the team improved to 7-7 and evened its mark in the Liberty League at 3-3.

Senior Ralph Temgoua had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while first-year student Tell White notched a season-high 15 points and added eight rebounds.

Senior Terry Parham recorded 15 points, dished out six assists and added two steals for the Saints. RPI, which was led by Matthew Pooley's 15 points, falls to 6-8 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

Daniel Martin and Brendan Farley also scored double-figures for the Engineers, recording 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Saints opened up the game making 7-of-10 from the floor to take a 17-9 lead. After extending the lead to 10 at 19-9 on a layup by sophomore Al Jones, the Engineers posted a 10-4 run to cut the deficit to four points (23-19).

The home team, however, was able to build its advantage back up to double-figures, leading by as many as 15 points on a dunk by White with :36 seconds left before taking a 47-32 lead into the locker room. St. Lawrence continued its impressive shooting, expanding its lead to as many as 24 points in the second half.

Though RPI cut the deficit to 12 points at 2:48 on a jumper by Matt Dixon, the Saints had put the game out of reach and closed out the win to earn their second victory of the week.

The Scarlet and Brown will take on Union tomorrow in the Burkman Gymnasium at 4:00pm. Meanwhile, RPI will travel to Potsdam, NY to take on the Golden Knights of Clarkson.
