Pittsburgh, PA -- Bri Slater (Canajoharie, NY) scored her first goal of the season to tie the game but Skylar Benjamin netted the game-winner just 51 seconds into overtime as Chatham University defeated the women's soccer team, 2-1 on Saturday.

The Cougars (2-5) earned their second win of the season as Benjamin blasted a shot into the back of the net from just outside the penalty box in the first minute of overtime to earn the victory for Chatham.

Megan Sieg scored her seventh of the season early on in the 12th minute off a pass from Benjamin to put the Cougars on top. Chatham took a 1-0 lead into intermission.

Fourteen minutes out of halftime Slater tallied her first of the season to knot the game at one apiece. The game would remain tied through 90 minutes of action.

Bernadette O'Connell (Buffalo, NY) stopped two shots for the Roos (3-7) in net, while Liz Sawyer turned aside seven shots for the Cougars.

The women's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday when it visits Johnson State College at 5:00 p.m.
