Skidmore College scored two goals in the final 2:06 in regulation to force overtime, and then picked up the only goal in the extra session to rally past the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team by the score of 11-10 at Hall-Leet Stadium.

The loss drops the Saints to 4-7 (2-2), while the Thoroughbreds improve to 7-3 (3-2).  Senior Kim Morse and sophomore Brigid Hurley scored four goals each for St. Lawrence, which finished with a 26-18 advantage in shots.  Four different players scored two goals apiece for Skidmore, which got the game-winning goal from Sydney Weill.

The two teams were knotted at 5-5 after the first half, as the Saints had three different times but Skidmore responded to level the scoring.  The Thoroughbreds capped the first half when Kimberly Segalas scored with 2.7 seconds left to send the game to intermission tied.

St. Lawrence took control for the first time by scoring three goals in 1:58 to take an 8-5 lead.  Junior Kendall Harty, Morse and Hurley each picked up a goal that gave the Saints a solid cushion.  However, Skidmore answered with three straight goals in 1:31 to again tie the score at 8-8.  Lauren Madden, Lexi Melville and Lindsay Stavola helped Skidmore's tying run.

The Saints seemed poised to earn the victory in the final minutes of the second half, as Morse and Hurley scored back-to-back goals to open up a 10-8 lead with 6:17 to play.  Though Segalas would score with 2:06 remaining to make it 10-9, the home team won the ensuing draw control and had possession deep in Skidmore territory.

However, the Saints would throw the ball away, and the turnover gave the Thoroughbreds enough time to clear the ball and set up their offense.  With less than 10 seconds remaining, Stavola connected with Lauren McCarthy in front who bounced a shot towards St. Lawrence goalie Anna Marchand.  Though the senior captain got a piece of the shot, it rolled across the goal line with 5.2 seconds left to send the contest to overtime.

In the extra session, Skidmore controlled the ball for the majority of the time, which led to what proved to be the deciding goal from Weill with 19 seconds left in the first 3:00 minute period.  Though St. Lawrence would have a chance to tie with possession in the second period, Hurley was stopped on a shot in front by Skidmore goalie Rachel Klein to allow the visitors to celebrate the come-from-behind win.

Klein earned the win with eight saves, while Marchand suffered the loss after a six-save outing.

The Saints will look to rebound from the loss when the team hosts Clarkson University at Hall-Leet Stadium on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:00pm.
