Dani DeGregory scored two goals and assisted on another and Kelly Blackhurst scored a goal and set up three others as Skidmore College rolled to a 7-1 win over St. Lawrence University in a Liberty League field hockey game in Saratoga Springs Saturday afternoon.

The Saints lost their sixth straight and fell to 2-12 overall and 1-5 in the Liberty League. Skidmore is now 11-4 overall and 4-2 in league play.

The Thoroughbreds thoroughly dominated the game, outshooting the Saints 34-8 and forcing 19 penalty corners to just two for the Saints. Saint goalie Nicole Matos made 15 saves for the Saints while two Skidmore goalies combined for five saves.

Skidmore opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the game as Blackhurst scored her 23rd of the year as Gregory centered the ball from the wing. The Saints came back to tie it up five minutes later when Courtney Cartier deflected a pass from the wing by Kate Higgins past Skidmore starter Haley MacDougall. It was the 11th goal of the year for Cartier.

Skidmore regained the lead at 8:41 when Pauline Searles scored her second of the year from Blackhurst and the Thoroughbreds went on to build a 5-1 halftime lead. Searles scored her second of the game at 15:20 on a deflection from Blackhurst, Melanie Webb scored her first of the year from Sam Skott at 24:54 and Gregory scored her eighth of the year from Jenn Hanks at 30:33.

It went to 6-1 just 1:09 into the second half when Cellidh MacNeil scored her eighth of the year on a deflection off a shot by Molly Gile and Gregory completed the scoring 7:35 into the second half from Blackhurst.

The Saints will return to action at Cortland State on Wednesday.
