The St. Lawrence women's swimming team earned their second dual meet win in as many days as they downed Clarkson 128-89 in Potsdam on Saturday afternoon. The Saints saw five different swimmers and diver Julie Hammond claimed individual victories; Hammond, Alanna Blackburn and Gabriella Marchetti were each dual winners for the Scarlet and Brown.
Hammond, who did not dive in Friday's meet versus Skidmore, claimed the one and three-meter events over the Golden Knights Joanne Bechaz with scores of 166.85 and 170.25, respectively.
St. Lawrence swept the freestyle events, claiming an individual win at every distance. Blackburn picked up wins in the 50 (28.73) and 100 (1:02.95), Nicole Leinders won the 200 (2:21.75), Marchetti the 400 (5:07.10), and Julia Carson took the 800 (10:24.95).
Marchetti's other win came in a head-to-head swim against Jackie Yeaton in the 200-meter fly (2:45.79), while senior Courtney Goodrich also swam to a first-place finish for the Saints in the 200 back, finishing in 2:37.53.
A host of Saints earned top –three finishes against the Golden Knights including: Caitlin Wiederecht (800 free, 10:51.30); Becca Raab and Heather Foley (50 free, 29.79 and 30:02); Julianne DeGuardi (200 IM and 200 back, 2:41.29 and 2:38.96); and Raab (100 free, 1:06.89).
