Caroline Dalton led the St. Lawrence University Women's Basketball team with 17 points but an off shooting day for the Saints led to an early deficit against Union College and the Dutchwomen scored a 65-52 victory Saturday afternoon in a Liberty League contest in Schenectady.

Dalton led the Saints (12-4 overall, 5-2 Liberty League) with 10 points in the first half but St. Lawrence was limited to just 25 percent shooting (7-for-28) in the first 20 minutes and Union (12-4, 7-2) opened up a 31-21 lead at the halftime intermission hitting 50% of its shots (12-for-24).

In the second half, St. Lawrence scored 11 of the first 13 points to trim the lead but Union responded with the next nine consecutive points to regain control.

Union maintained the double-digit lead for the rest of the third quarter with an 18-16 advantage in the period and the teams played an even 15-15 fourth quarter as the Saints had a four-game win streak snapped with the loss.

Dalton led the way with her 17 points. Kaelyn Kohlasch added 11 points and Ellie Gonyeau chipped in 10 points and a team-best nine rebounds. Lauren Quattrocchi was whistled for two quick fouls to start the game and was limited to just three minutes of action in the first half and finished with just two points but led the Saints with five assists and three steals.

The Saints continue the series of road games with a weekend trip to Bard and Vassar next weekend.
