St. Lawrence University seniors Kara McDuffee and Allison Cady combined for 45 points on Sunday evening, leading the Saints womens' basketball team to an 81-65 victory over Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. McDuffee finished with a double-double thanks to 25 points and 15 boards while Cady went for 20 points.

St. Lawrence improves to 2-0 after the weekend sweep in Colorado, as Caroline Dalton had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Rookie Jenny Scudder was key with 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting, though St. Lawrence rode a sound 50-34 edge in rebounds to overcome 21 turnovers and get the win.

Colorado College (0-2) was unable to overcome a big first half deficit despite 24 points from Courtney Tyus. The Tigers trailed for over 35 minutes in the game as St. Lawrence's bench chipped in 24 points.

The Tigers led 8-7 early, but a 14-3 St. Lawrence run behind Scudder gave the Saints a 21-11 lead with 8:44 remaining in the half. Cady would knock down three jumpers consecutively late in the half as the Scarlet and Brown went to the locker room with a 39-22 halftime cushion.

After falling behind by 20 early in the second half, Colorado College made its run midway through the period as Tyus helped her team back to within 12 at 54-42. However, the Saints showed great poise and answered with a 13-2 run of their own to seal the victory. The run gave St. Lawrence its largest lead of 23 points and allowed the visitors to cruise to victory.

St. Lawrence will be in action again on Friday, November 21 when the team heads to Cortland State for a showdown with the Red Dragons at 7:00pm.
