Sophomore Andrew Schreyack scattered six hits and struck out ten, leading St. Lawrence University's baseball team to its third straight win in Florida, a 3-1 decision against Westminster, MO on Friday.
The Saints, who conclude their southern trip against Monmouth Saturday morning are 4-3 after Friday's win.
Bryan Palermo got the Saints off on the right foot on Friday as he was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on Khifer O'Connor's single to left in the top of the first. Westminster tied it on a hit batter, a double and a single in the bottom of the second, but the Saints went back in front with two in the fourth.
Paul Piatelli walked and Brian Magovney singled to start the fourth inning and both were advanced on Matt DeLuca's sacrifice bunt. Ethan Braddock then delivered a sacrifice fly to left to score Piatelli and John Ainsley hit a two-out single to plate Magovney for the 3-1 Saint lead.
Schreyack did not allow a runner past second the rest of the way. Westminster threatened in the bottom of the ninth with two on and one out, but Andrew Weitzel came on and induced a line-out double play to end the game.
