St. Lawrence University senior Amy Cymerman has been named the Corvais-ECAC Division III Upstate Track Athlete of the Week after her victory in the 5,000m run at the Bucknell Invitational last weekend.

Cymerman, who along with teammates Divya Biswal and Lisa Grohn swept the Liberty League's weekly track and field awards, became the first St. Lawrence athlete to ever win an event at the multi-divisional meet at Bucknell. The Liberty League's Track Performer of the Week, her time of 16:47.65 topped 99 runners in a largely DI and DII field and ranks second in the nation in Division III this season. Amy's time also set a new University record in the 5,000m, breaking Wendy Pavlus' outdoor mark by nearly 17 seconds.

Biswal also had a standout weekend at Bucknell, as she recorded the nation's top Division III mark in the triple jump with a mark of 12.19m. The Ottawa, ON native set the University record in the event, finishing second only to a student-athlete from the University of Pittsburgh. Divya, who was named the Liberty League's Field Performer of the Week, also ran a personal-best in the 100m hurdles.

Grohn was named the league's Rookie of the Week after a ninth place finish in the 5,000m run. Her time of 17:05.09 is the third-fastest in St. Lawrence history and is the fastest time in Division III this spring by a first-year runner.

The Saints women's track and field team will be out to defend its Liberty League title this Saturday, April 19 at the conference championships in Rochester, NY.
