Megan Kellogg continued a stellar start to her sophomore season with the individual championship in the AAE Invitational at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh on Saturday.

One of the biggest wins for a Saint runner since Wendy Pavlus' NCAA individual championship, Kellogg's victory was her fifth straight this year and came against the strongest field the Saints will face outside the NCAA Championship which will be run on the same course in November.

The Saint team finished seventh in a field which included a dozen nationally ranked teams. The Saints went into the race ranked ninth nationally. Washington University of St. Louis was the team champion with 136 points followed by Willamette with 165, the University of Chicago with 201, Hope with 259, Emory 265, RIT with 269 and the Saints with 270. A total of 46 teams competed in the event.

Kellogg led a 414-runner field with a winning time of 21:11.70, finishing five seconds in front of UW Eau Claire's Lucy Ramquist. Kellogg ran in the lead pack throughout the race and moved into the lead at the 4.95 kilometer mark of the six kilometer race. She and Ramquist were neck and neck at that point, but the Saint star increased her margin heading inot the finish chute.
