Saints women's track member Cymerman wins Bucknell 5K, sets SLU record

Senior Amy Cymerman recorded an impressive victory in the Invitational 5000 meters at the Bison Outdoor Invitational at Bucknell on Saturday and St. Lawrence University's women's track and field team had a trio of top ten finishes in field events in day one of two day event.

Cymerman ran 16:47.65 to beat Central Michigan's Breanne Lesner by just over a second in the 5000. Cymerman's time trimmed 15 seconds off the Saint record, formerly held by Wendy Pavlus and is the second fastest time in Division III thus far this season. Lisa Grohn ran 17:05.09 in the same race and finished ninth while Ariel Beccia was 17th in 17:22.7.

Marisa Turner was fifth in the high jump with a 1.65 meter jump for the top Saint finish while Divya Biswal was 10th in the long jump at 5.36 meters and Kristen Linder was seventh in the discus with a throw of 37.28 meters.

Kelsey Leder ran 18:35.96 and finished 39th in the open 5000 meters.
