The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team, ranked 17th in the Northeast, swept its second straight match of the weekend with a 9-0 win over Bard in the Newell Field House on Saturday morning. The Saints improve to 6-4 on the season and will host Union College on Sunday at noon in the Newell Field House. Meanwhile, Bard falls to 4-4.

St. Lawrence took a quick 3-0 lead after doubles play, with each Saint tandem winning by the score 8-1. Elkie Vandenbeemt and Shannon Murphy beat Jean Wong and Nelle Plotkin at one, while Morgan McNeal and Elizabeth Geer defeated Anna Gors and Beryl Taylor at two. Tori Copelas and Laura Goldhar rounded out the doubles scoring with a victory over Caia Dipenbrock and Danielle Iserlis at three.

The Saints quickly locked in the win and took a 6-0 lead as McNeal, Murphy and Miller each swept their opponents. McNeal beat Plotkin at two, Murphy beat Iserlis at five, and Miller beat Dipenbrock at six. At one, Vandenbeemt earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Wong, while Arroyo beat Gors 6-1, 6-0 at three. Geer defeated Taylor at four, 6-1, 6-1.
