The St. Lawrence women's tennis team continued to roll as it opened its spring training trip with a 7-2 win over Stevens Monday afternoon. Olivia Arroyo, Georgia Comber and Anna Young each earned a pair of wins for the Saints.
Comber and Young teamed up for an 8-6 win at second doubles over Alexis Connor and Julia Guidnard, while Arroyo was paired with Samantha Miller in the third spot. The duo blanked their Stevens opponents 8-0.
In singles, the Scarlet and Brown captured wins from the second spot down to the sixth position. Arroyo downed Danielle Stewart 6-2, 7-5 at two and Comber racked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Connor at three. Anna Young followed suit in the fourth spot winning 6-1, 6-0.
Hallie Young handily defeated Allie Masciana at five; 6-0, 6-0, and was the only Saint to not drop a game in the contest. In her first action of the season, Laura Goldhar picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win in the sixth position.
Now 4-0 in dual matches this season, the Saints will continue their spring training schedule with a match against the College of New Jersey on Tuesday, March 11.
