Sophomores Gabriella Marchetti and Julie Hammond were both dual winners for the St. Lawrence women's swimming team on Sunday afternoon, but the Saints came up short against St. Michael's in the Augsbury Pool, falling 122-109.
Marchetti was the only sub-12 minute finisher in the 1000 free with a time of 11:37.93; nearly a full 30 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer from St. Michael's. She also won the 500 free, touching the wall at 5:40.68.
Hammond swept the diving events for St. Lawrence, beat a trio of divers for the Purple Knights with a score of 175.65 for six dives on the one-meter board, before diving uncontested on the three meter and posting a score of 177.40.
The other individual wins on the day came from junior Heather Foley and first-year Meg Musser. Foley (1:03.06) won the 100 fly ahead of teammate Julie DeGuardi (1:07.13), and Musser claimed the 200 free in 2:05.95
