St. Lawrence University women's squash team went 1-2 at the Smith Round Robin in Northampton, MA over the weekend. The Saints, now 5-8 on the season, opened with a 9-0 sweep of California Berkley before dropping matches to #28 William Smith and #24 Connecticut College by the scores of 5-4 and 8-1, respectively.

Against California Berkley, Brigitte Tousignant led the Saints with an 11-4, 11-6, 11-1 win at No. 1, while Frances Robinson earned an 11-7, 11-8, 11-8 victory at No. 2. Valeria Quan won at No. 3, 11-4, 11-2, 11-8 and Sarah Neilson won at No. 4 11-5, 11-3, 11-2. Brittany Coxe beat her opponent at No. 5, 11-3, 11-4, 11-3 and Corey McHugh won at No. 6, 11-1, 11-4, 11-3. Parker Benedict cruised to a win at No. 7, 11-0, 11-0, 11-2 and Carolyn Fisher earned a victory at No. 8, 11-8, 11-3, 11-5. Liz Levering rounded out the Saints' scoring with an 11-0, 11-1, 11-1 triumph at No. 9.

In their second match on Saturday, the Saints were edged by the Herons of William Smith, who avenged a 4-5 loss earlier in the season at the Bard Round Robin. Quan, Neilson, Coxe and Levering earned the victories for the Saints. Quan won 13-11, 12-14, 11-8, 11-5 at No.3, Neilson won 11-5, 11-5, 11-8 at No. 4, Coxe won 8-11, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10, 11-5 at No. 5 and Levering won 11-4, 11-6, 11-7 at No. 9.

On Sunday, McHugh was the only Saints player that could muster a victory. She defeated her opponent 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 12-10, 11-4 at No. 6.

St. Lawrence will host Middlebury on the Robie Squash Courts on Feb. 6 at 5:00pm.
