The fouth-seeded St. Lawrence University women's soccer team was shutout by top seeded and nationally ranked William Smith 3-0 in a Liberty League semifinal game, Saturday afternoon in Geneva, New York.

Elizabeth Moore notched William Smith's first goal of the game in the 12th minute with a rebound out in front of Saints' goalkeeper Samantha Allen.

Sarah Olick-Sutphen gave the Herons a 2-0 advantage after capitalizing on a give-and-go at the top of the box. Julia Keogh assisted on the play.

The Herons' Megan Bartwick added William Smith's third and final goal of the game in the 64th minute. Keogh recorded her second assist of the game on the play.

Allen made nine saves between the pipes for the Saints, while Veronica Romines made one save for the Herons.

William Smith outshot the Saints 16-2 and held a 12-1 shots on goal advantage. Hannah Merriam recorded the Saints lone shot on goal.

"It was a tough game today," said head coach Franco Bari. "Tough because William Smith played us extremely hard, we didn't quite play our "A" game and it was a our seniors last conference tournament match. With this said, we still put up a fight and left everything on the field. Overall, it's been a really good season and I'm proud of this team, fortunate to coach such an inspiring group and grateful for the captains' and senior leadership."

The Scarlet and Brown finished the season 11-7, while William Smith improved to 16-1 and advance to face either Vassar or RIT in the Liberty League Championship game, Sunday November 5th.
