It was all St. Lawrence from the opening kick as the Saints scored five first-half goals, including two in the first 10 minutes, en route to a 9-0 win over Marywood on Sunday afternoon on Sandy MacAllaster Field to win the North Country Classic Tournament.

Sophomore Kaleigh White had a hat trick, Katie Stames tallied seven points on two goals and three assists, Samantha Rock had two goals and Rachel Muskin and Hannah Merriam both has multi-point games in the win. It's the first time the Saints have scored nine goals since reaching double digits in a 10-0 win over John Jay in 2012.

"The team really stayed connected today, the ball movement was fantastic, the movement off of the ball was strong and we created and finished on some really good chances," Head Coach Franco Bari said.

The first chance came just three minutes into the game with Muskin playing a pass ahead to DePoy who took a hard shot right at goalkeeper Aly Moyer. The ball popped above Moyer and fell behind her into the net to give the Saints a 1-0 lead as the eventual game winner.

Less than five minutes later White scored her first of the day when she took Moyer one-on-one and deked around her for an easy finish with Stames assisting on the play.

Stames made it 3-0 in favor of the home team when she took a feed from Merriam on the left corner of the box and slid a shot along the ground that snuck inside the far post.

In the 22nd minute Stames set up Muskin for her second goal of the weekend with an arching pass over the defense that sent Muskin in one-on-one with Moyer. The Pacers' keeper came out to challenge, but Muskin touched the ball around her for the finish and a 4-0 Saints lead.

Samantha Rock closed out the scoring in the first half for the Saints when she picked up the ball at midfield and carried into the offensive third, beating three defenders before besting Moyer to make it 5-0 St. Lawrence.

To open the second half White scored two goals without a minute and a half of each other to put the Scarlet and Brown in front 7-0. Not long after, Stames added her second of the day with a finish at the far post after Lindsay Geier carried into the box on a breakaway, but pushed the ball too far in front to convert the opportunity herself. Stames redirected the ball before it went out of bounds for the eighth St. Lawrence goal.

And it was Rock who finished the scoring after a beautiful cross from first-year Nikkie Syrotiak along the endline. Syrotiak hit a long ball to the far post where Rock and Moyer both went up to get it and the Saints senior won the battle and increased the lead to 9-0.

The Saints kept Marywood completely off the score sheet in the first half, holding them the Pacers without a shot or a corner for the first 45 minutes, and allowed just two shots total; both on goal. Kelsey West was not called on to make a save in the first half, while Jackie Sovie made both stops for the Saints in the second.

In total, St. Lawrence took 32 shots with 16 going on goal. Moyer finished with five saves for the Pacers, while her defenders also made a pair of stops.

"Overall, it was a great weekend the team," Bari said. We moved the ball well, made great decisions in the attack and generated excellent opportunities."

The Saints will continue the nonconference portion of their schedule with road games at Wesleyan and Western New England University next Saturday and Sunday afternoon at 1 pm and 12 pm, respectively.
